Why I love Gossip Girl - Reason 81931.

Just watch.

Blair and Chuck forever!

Pink peacocks are too cute.

Ruffles and pussy bow? Check.
Black AND pink? Double check.

Check out the pink peacocks!!

They remind me of funky pink pelicans and I got the top the moment I laid eyes on it. Too cute!

Something ivory and beautiful.

I have pretty exciting news!

Remember my dream dress from Pronovias?

I bought my wedding dress while I was in Gold Coast. It was a steal!

Beautiful shade of ivory. Full lace.

Just what I was looking for.

1 down. A few thousand other tasks to go before the Big Day!

My gravitation towards all things pink and girly.

Perhaps I'm involved in the whole wedding and Googling all things weddingy and pretty, I am becoming more girly by the second.

I don't think I'm a girly girl, but ever since the day I've decided to paint my nails more regularly for funsies and gravitating towards all things pink and sweet, some things have changed.

Like the appearance of my Hotmail account.

And my preferred fragrance.

And a dress I got because it looked too pretty.

[From BCBGMaxAzria. Similar dress.]

Oh who am I kiddng. I'm a girly girl.

How to propose to a girl - Part 27401.

This is just about the sweetest thing I've come across. You have to watch it. It started in Rose Bay, Sydney.

And ...

She's too funny! Happiness to everyone!

Hmmm I wonder how they got Hugh Jackman in on this.

Deckhand for the week.

I'm back from my vacation and I have been described as sunny.

I guess a break away from work perks me up!

J and I were back at Gold Coast to visit family and it was so great to see them again. E is now taller and looks so much like her mom and C is now in uni! It still surprises me that time passes so quickly.

We ran errands and were proud exhibitors at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.

[This is the only photo closest to our boat. See pink arrow.]

I was a deckhand for 3 days, wiping every possible surface with a shammy. I looked nothing like the professional crew/ boating people at the show. They looked like this.

I was perhaps the most inappropriately dressed deckhand at the boat show, since I was on vacation and I brought all this girly and short shorts.

summer/beach outfit

I was expecting this.

I got this.

2 vacations since November 08. 2 floods. Just awesome.

Vera Wang Spring 2010 - 2.

This wedding dress is similar to the previous design by Vera Wang. And just as dreamy.

Look at the layers of tulle that cascades!

Finished with a girly bow in front.

Tulle is a very light material and it is very romantic. I can imagine the bride smiling in this dreamy dress in the sun like a fairy princess (Arwen comes to mind.

Ethereal.

TwoBirds is too fabulous.

I think I have decided on lavender for the girls. It's sweet, feminine and pretty without being too.. much.

1 dress. 10 ways.

In so many pretty colors.

In a way that flatters you the most.

Besides, the lavender dress from TwoBirds is too fabulous.

Swoooooon. I may just buy one more for myself!

All I want to do is to decorate the lawn wonderfully.

J and I will be married in a gazebo. It will be a lawn wedding.

Thing is, the hotel will be doing the decoration as part of the package and mmmm I'm underwhelmed by it.

We asked the hotel if they can improve on the decoration but as always "it comes at an extra."

So I've scrapped lanterns being hung around the lawn.

I've scrapped parasols for every guest.

I want birdcages of different sizes around the lawn.

I want ribbons with little blooms tied on it billowing in the air.

The floral designer (yup this is a real job) gave me a very "reasonable" quotation of 4500-6000 clams, out of which 1000 will be flowers just for the ceremony on the lawn.

Spending more than what I earn in a month on flowers?! That's just preposterous. The last time I checked, our families don't own mines/banks/countries.

I would love to have beautiful details for my wedding without that ridiculous price tag. It all points towards DIY but I can't be decorating the venue myself on the actual day!

Help!

Vera Wang Spring 2010 - 1

I have long set my eyes on my wedding dress. It is timeless and I can just see myself in it.

Then came Vera Wang Spring 2010. Or rather Bridal Fashion Week.

Too pretty! I love the hint of blush in the skirt. Every bride will feel like a princess in this.

This is going in my look book!

Gossip Girl is about acting.

Gossip Girl is not just a show about rich teenagers. It's soooo much more.

I mean, just watch it for the acting if you don't buy the plot.

My gaaaaaaaaaaaaawd!!!

I know Ed Westwick isn't much of a looker but he grows on you as the jaded boy who smirks as his life falls apart. I'm rooting for Blair and Chuck!

Influenza A and travel plans do not go well together.

My workplace has kind of gone into bio warfare preparedness mode.

As the Influenza A H1N1 virus makes its round around the globe, some checks have been put in place.

We were issued personal thermometers yesterday and we have to record our temperature twice a day, initialized. All visitors have to go through a temperature check and health declaration before entering the building, performed by men in blue plastic medical gowns. And all travel history for the past 7 days have to be submitted weekly.

Wow.

The virus hasn't reached the island yet but perhaps SARS has left everyone pretty shaken up. I wasn't here when SARS struck. I was in Sydney and life went on as usual.

Speaking of which, mom is advising against my upcoming pilgrimage to Gold Coast. I am bummed out. I want to sit on the beach and enjoy the sun and sea breeze! I am so looking forward to go sailing! Most of all, I want to get out of the office (just kidding) this will be a perfect vacation for J and I to visit his family.

I don't want to think about cancelling my Aussie trip. It's the only thing that keeps me going at work. It's the light at the end of the tunnel! Mopes.
