Shopping for skirts - Safe choices.

In my quest to dress and feel better while I slowly drown at work, I am going to stock up on work skirts.

A boucle skirt looks about right.

A D&G boucle skirt no less. And I'm finally warming up to snakeskin. They still give me the creepy crawlies, but those heels look fabulous!

A safe navy blue skirt looks prim and proper.

Elie Tahari Kalia tweed skirt gives a great silhouette, and it's sheeny gold!

All wonderful and available at Nordstrom.com

Sex and the City 2 - The anticipation.

I'm filled with girly glee!

With the new Sex and the City 2 out on 27 May 2010, and me all dizzy thinking about the clothes and adventures the girls are going to have, it makes me want to own the complete series of Sex and the City DVD box set.

Anyway the new poster for SATC 2 features Carrie in a beautiful dress.

But I want a poster with all the girls in it! SATC is a story about 4 women's lives narrated by Carrie, not a story about Carrie. I wonder what went on while they were shooting for the movie poster. Hmmm..

Can't wait to watch the movie!

I *heart* Marchesa and rose gold sheen.

I had a very nasty encounter last night with a road bully. He wound down his windows and threw rocks at my car on the highway!!! I hope his bits, rims and spoiler on his stupid little car fall off.

I guess the only thing to lift me out of this incredibly terrifying ordeal is a very beautiful dress.

Picture from gossipgirlfashion.net

I *heart* Blair.

If I ever have a daughter I'll name her Blair. Or Victoria (the queen, not Beckham).

The sheer gorgeousness (is there such a word?) is beyond words. Lucky for me, Marchesa is opening a flagship store on the island!

I'm not sure when I'll be able to wear it. Maybe to my friends' weddings!!!! A beautiful dress like this is totally recyclable at weddings.

The rose gold sheen, the bow and the intricate lace do not look over the top. They just look like they are meant to be, each feature not fighting over another for attention, but just meld together like a wonderful piece of art.

I want to frame the dress and hang it in my room as art.

*Swoooooooon*

You can give me wedding rings.

This song came up on my iTunes and I can't help swooning. Even when I'm sitting in my office.

Peter Gabriel - Book of Love

The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures,
and instructions for dancing
But I
I love it when you read to me
And you
You can read me anything
The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it's just transcendental
Some of it's just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything
The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know
But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
You ought to give me wedding rings

I'm really really glad I chose this song at my wedding!

The gang of 4.

It is bittersweet that one of my besties got married today and I am not there to celebrate this joyous occasion with her.

We were the gang of 4. I don't really understand what happened.

Sigh.

Red and fabulous.

Red and fabulous.

My quest for peachy fresh and dewy skin.

I have been rather conscious of my appearance for the past few weeks. I can't believe I'm writing this because it's akin to admitting to my vanity, and the apparent lack of good skin.

-- My mirror is bigger.

It is the bane of my life.

I have been cursed with bad skin since my teens. Hideous pores and pimples and the peeling and flaking for no apparent reason. I had low self esteem in my teens because my acne was bad and I really couldn't control my skin. Why would I go out of the house when my skin looked diseased? And of course, why would I go out when some of the girls were blessed with flawless skin? I wasn't about to make myself feel worse by standing next to them.

Anyway my 20s are ending I look dull and tired certain opportunities came by the past few weeks and I thought, I should try and look better. It gives me confidence and perhaps the change I have always been clamouring for will finally happen.

Mingie decided to help me on this. I have errr kind of religiously put on face masks at least once a week. I try to put some powder on my face before I go to work. I am trying to look more presentable.

And I may have also fallen under the spell of Skin Food's Peach and Sake Face Mask.

God it smells peachy fresh and my skin feels better after!

I'm going to keep putting these masks on and hope I don't get breakouts from it and look fresh and dewy. Fingers crossed!

I *heart* Ann Taylor.

This outfit is just too swooooooonsome. I'd wear this lace dress for my wedding if it was available earlier.

Hang on, I did wear a short lace dress. Hmmm I can always have another one.

And check out those heels on her! They look like the Louboutins! All that fluffiness and petals. *Swoooooooooooooooooon*

Looks like Louboutins, don't they?

I'm so amazed at Ann Taylor's collection.

These necklaces are too purrrrrty!

I simply heart the necklace with pearls and tulle. So pretty. Awwwww...

For reasons that escaped me, I don't know why I haven't checked out the collection in years. Were they frumpy? I hope not. Were they mum-sy? They don't look it. In fact they look so much like J Crew now. J Crew's things look very pretty on their website, but the material always feels a little too flimsy, crumpled and most unfortunately, cheap-ish.

Should I be doing some online shopping? I worry a bit over the quality. I don't need them. But I oh-so want them!
